The short version

• We collect what we need to run SayScreen and make the videos you ask for.
• We never see or store the passwords for the sites you record.
• We don't sell your data, show you ads, or use your recordings to train AI models.
• You can ask us to delete your account and everything in it at any time: hey@sayscreen.com.

Who we are

SayScreen is an AI tutorial video generator built and run by WesGPT. In this policy, “SayScreen”, “we” and “us” mean the people who run it, and “you” means anyone who visits sayscreen.com or uses the SayScreen app. Questions about your data go to hey@sayscreen.com.

What we collect

• Account details. Your email address, and a name if you add one, to create your account, sign you in and contact you about it.
• What you give SayScreen. The start pages, lesson prompts, settings and script edits for your videos.
• What SayScreen records. To make a video, SayScreen opens the pages you point it at in a browser and captures screenshots, the page's text and structure, and the screen recording. From those it makes the script, the narration audio, the captions and the finished video.
• Saved sign-ins. When you sign in to a site so SayScreen can record behind its login, it keeps that site's session cookies so it can record there again. You type your password into the site's own sign-in page; SayScreen never receives or stores it. You can remove a saved sign-in at any time.
• Voice samples. If you clone your voice, the recordings you provide are used to create that voice.
• Messages. Whatever you send us by email.
• Visits to this website. Our own analytics tool counts page views and where visits come from (a search engine or another site, for example), without cookies and without keeping IP addresses. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, the pages requested and when) to keep the site secure and running.

How we use it

• To run SayScreen: make the videos you ask for, store them for you and let you edit them.
• To send account emails, such as sign-in and verification messages, security notices and important changes.
• To send occasional product news. You can opt out at any time.
• To answer you when you write to us.
• To keep SayScreen secure, prevent abuse and meet our legal obligations.

We don't sell personal information, use it for advertising, or use your recordings, scripts or videos to train AI models.

Who processes it for us

Only the services that help run SayScreen, each handling data on our behalf:

• Anthropic (Claude) receives screenshots and page content from your recordings, to direct the browser and write the narration.
• ElevenLabs receives narration scripts, and voice samples if you clone your voice, to generate speech.
• Railway hosts this website, the app and their databases.
• Resend sends our emails.
• A payment processor handles your card details if you buy a paid plan. We never see or store your full card number.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect someone's safety or our rights, or as part of a sale or merger of SayScreen, in which case this policy keeps applying to your data.

Cookies

This website doesn't set cookies, and its visit counter works without them. The app uses essential cookies to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies anywhere.

How long we keep it

We keep your account information and videos while your account is open. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete its data, except records the law requires us to keep, such as payment records. Server logs are kept only for a short time.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to see, correct, export or delete your personal information, and object to or limit how we use it. Email hey@sayscreen.com and we'll answer within 30 days. If you're in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority. We don't sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Where it's processed

Our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires it, we rely on their data processing terms to protect it.

Security

Data travels over encrypted connections, and access to it is limited to what's needed to run SayScreen. No system is perfectly secure, so where you can, record with a demo or staging account that holds sample data.

Children

SayScreen isn't meant for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

When we change this policy, we update the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll also tell you by email or in the app. See also our Terms of Service.
