How to make a QR code in Canva

Canva's Static QR codes app turns a link into a scannable code and adds it to your design, free on every plan and with no Canva logo. This video makes one on a blank page, then explains the catch: a static code's link can't be changed later.

0:00Let's make a free QR code right inside Canva. We'll use the Static QR codes app to turn a link into a scannable code on your page.

0:09Start by opening Apps in the left sidebar, where Canva keeps its add-on tools.

0:14Search for QR code to see every app that can create one.

0:18You'll see a dynamic option first, but skip it. Choose Static QR codes instead, which is Canva's free generator.

0:27Paste in the link you want people to reach when they scan the code.

0:32Then click Generate code, and Canva drops the QR code straight onto your page. Keep in mind that a static code is free to make, but the link is baked in, so you can't change where it points later. If the link changes, just generate a new code.

0:48Finally, click an empty spot on the page to deselect it and see your finished QR code on its own. And that's it: a free, scannable QR code in just a few clicks. Try resizing it or adding a short call to action next to it so people know to scan.
