How to create a database in Notion
A Notion database is a table where every row is also a page of its own. This video adds a table called Projects to an empty page, fills in three rows and gives each one a due date with a Date property, without Notion AI or a template.

0:00In Notion, a database is a table where every row is also its own page. Let's build a simple Projects database right here on our Team Planning page.
0:10Click into the page body and type slash database to open the menu of database blocks.
0:16Choose Table view to drop an inline table database right onto this page.
0:21A blank table appears. Give it a clear name, like Projects, so everyone knows what it tracks.
0:29Next, let's add some projects. Click New page at the bottom of the table to create the first row. Type the project name, Website redesign, and press Enter to save it.
0:42Add a second row the same way. This one is Launch email. And one more row for our third project. Call it Customer survey.
1:01Properties are the columns that describe each row. To track deadlines, click Add property. First name the property Due date. Then pick the Date type, so each cell gets a handy calendar picker.
1:20The new Due date column is ready. Click the cell next to Website redesign to set its deadline. A calendar pops up. Pick November thirteenth. Press Escape to close the picker.
1:33Now give Launch email a date. The twentieth works. Close it again. Last one: the Customer survey's due date. Let's set it for December second. Press Escape once more, and every project now has a deadline. And remember, each row is its own page. Open any project, like Website redesign, to add notes, tasks, or files inside it. That's your first Notion database: a Projects table with three rows and a Due date for each. Next, try adding a Status property or sorting by due date.
