Comparison

SayScreen vs Tango

Tango captures a workflow as you click through it and turns it into a step-by-step guide and, on Pro, a video rendered from those steps with optional AI narration. SayScreen makes a narrated, edited screen recording of a web app, with its AI doing the clicking. Choose Tango for affordable written guides and walkthroughs inside the live app; choose SayScreen when the deliverable is a polished video.

Tango or SayScreen: which should you choose?

Choose Tango if…

  • You want written guides at a low per-user price: Pro is $22 per user a month billed yearly, or $15 from three users
  • You want a free plan for a small team: 5 shared workflows and up to 10 users
  • You want people guided step by step inside the live app (Guide Me and Pins, on Enterprise)
  • Your guides cover desktop software as well as the browser (Pro)

Choose SayScreen if…

  • You need a real screen recording with narration, camera moves and a moving cursor, not a video built from screenshots
  • You want an MP4 and .srt file to publish anywhere, from YouTube to your help center
  • You'd rather describe the task than perform it: the AI clicks through your app
  • You want narration in the voice you pick: a stock AI voice, or your own clone

Where Tango and SayScreen differ

Steps or a recording

Tango captures each step as you click and writes the step text. SayScreen records the whole session in a real browser at 2× device scale and edits it into a video, so viewers see the real interface in motion: menus opening, the cursor travelling, pages changing.

Video

On Pro and Enterprise, Tango renders a video from a workflow's steps, with smooth transitions and optional AI narration, shared as an embed for Notion, Confluence or an LMS. SayScreen's video is an edited screen recording, delivered as an MP4 plus captions, and you refresh it by re-running the prompt.

Help inside the app

Tango's Guide Me and Pins highlight each step inside the live app on its Enterprise plan, something no video does. SayScreen stops at the video.

Pricing

Tango is free for 5 shared workflows. Pro is $30 per user a month ($22 billed yearly) for one or two users, and $20 ($15 billed yearly) per user from three. SayScreen is $1 for your first 7 days, then $29 a month for 30 videos, up to 10 minutes each.
