Comparison
SayScreen vs Guidde
Both use AI to make narrated how-to videos, but they split the work differently. With Guidde you capture the workflow yourself and get a step-by-step video plus a written guide. With SayScreen you describe the lesson, and an AI records, narrates and edits the video in a real browser. Guidde suits documentation teams that need written guides, desktop apps and translation; SayScreen suits teams that want finished videos of a web app without recording them.

Where Guidde and SayScreen differ
Who does the recording
Guidde records what you do: you click through the process with its browser extension (or its desktop app on Business and up), and each click becomes a step. SayScreen does the clicking itself: its AI reads each screen of your web app and decides where to click, from a one-line description of the lesson. You watch it work instead of performing the steps.
A video, or a video and a document
Every Guidde capture becomes both a video and a written step-by-step guide, which paid plans export to PDF, Word, PowerPoint, HTML or Markdown. SayScreen makes one thing: a narrated, edited MP4 with an .srt caption file. If your team lives in written SOPs, Guidde covers more.
Narration and editing
Guidde writes the script and, on Business and Enterprise, voices it with AI text-to-voice; on Free and Pro you record or upload your own voiceover. SayScreen writes every script and voices it in a natural AI voice, then edits in zooms, a gliding cursor, click highlights and captions. Change a line and it's re-voiced and re-timed without recording again.
Pricing
Guidde charges per creator: Pro is $29 a month ($19 billed yearly) and Business, which adds AI voices and desktop capture, is $59 ($39 billed yearly) per creator. SayScreen is $1 for your first 7 days, then $29 a month for 30 videos, up to 10 minutes each. Guidde also has a free plan, with 25 guides and a watermark.
Questions about Guidde and SayScreen
Yes, if what you need is narrated how-to videos of a web app. Both use AI to script and voice tutorials; the difference is the recording. Guidde turns your own click-through into a guide, while SayScreen's AI clicks through the app for you from a prompt. If you also need written guides or desktop-app capture, Guidde covers those and SayScreen doesn't.
It depends on how many people create. Guidde's paid plans are per creator: $29 or $59 a month, or $19 and $39 billed yearly. SayScreen is $1 for your first 7 days, then $29 a month for 30 videos, up to 10 minutes each. For one person making a few videos a month, try Guidde's free plan or SayScreen's $1 trial.
Not with SayScreen: every video is narrated in a lifelike AI voice, or your own cloned voice. On Guidde, AI text-to-voice comes with Business and Enterprise; on Free and Pro you record or upload your own voiceover.
Guidde can, with its Mac and Windows desktop app on Business and Enterprise. SayScreen works with web apps: anything that runs in Chrome, including pages behind a login.
Yes. They don't overlap much: written step-by-step guides could stay in Guidde, while SayScreen makes polished videos for your help center or product pages. SayScreen's output is a standard MP4 and .srt file you can host anywhere.
