Comparison

SayScreen vs Trainn

Trainn and SayScreen both aim at product tutorials, but they split the work differently. With Trainn you record a workflow and its AI agent edits, voices and packages it as a video, a guide and an interactive walkthrough, with an LMS on higher plans. With SayScreen you never record: describe the lesson, and the AI clicks through your web app, narrates and edits a finished MP4. Choose Trainn for a customer-education platform with distribution built in; choose SayScreen when you want the recording done for you and you'll host the video yourself.

Trainn or SayScreen: which should you choose?

Choose Trainn if…

  • You're happy to record once and want AI to finish the video, guide and walkthrough
  • You need a branded Knowledge Hub, in-app tutorials or an LMS Academy (Scale and up)
  • You want 1-click translation into 30+ languages on Scale
  • You prefer a low Creator price ($19/mo) for solo video and guide output

Choose SayScreen if…

  • You don't want to record: the AI performs the steps in your web app from a prompt
  • You want to refresh a tutorial after a UI change by re-running the same prompt
  • You only need the video file (MP4 + .srt), not an LMS or knowledge hub
  • You want every video narrated and edited without managing clips yourself

Where Trainn and SayScreen differ

Who records

Trainn starts from your screen recording (or an uploaded video): its AI agent understands the workflow, edits it, adds zooms, spotlights, captions and an AI voiceover. SayScreen's AI records every video itself in a real Chrome browser, from a start page and a one-line lesson.

What else you get

Trainn turns one capture into a video, a step-by-step guide and an interactive walkthrough, and Scale adds a Knowledge Hub, in-app tutorials and an LMS. SayScreen makes the narrated video (MP4 + .srt) and leaves hosting to your help center or video host.

Updates

In Trainn you swap a clip when a feature changes and the agent rewrites the narration. In SayScreen you re-run the prompt against the live app, or edit a line of script to re-voice and re-time it.

Pricing

Trainn has no free plan (14-day trial). Creator is $19 a month for 1 user and 15 videos and guides; Launch is $2,400 a year for 3 users and 120 videos and guides; Scale $10,000 a year; Enterprise $39,900 a year. SayScreen is $1 for your first 7 days, then $49 a month for 60 minutes of video, up to 8 minutes each.
